Recurring workflows by trade
How HVAC, plumbing, electrical, outdoor route and cleaning businesses use memberships for repeat work.
Recurring work in Homeforce runs on memberships: a plan sets the price, billing frequency and number of included visits, and Homeforce bills members and creates maintenance jobs as they come due. Here's how different trades put that to work.
HVAC & plumbing
The classic use: a comfort club or maintenance agreement.
- Create a plan with 2 visits per year for spring and fall tune-ups, billed Monthly to keep the price easy to say yes to, or Annual for one charge.
- Visits come due about 3 and 9 months after enrollment. Homeforce creates the tune-up jobs 21 days ahead and drops them in the unscheduled list on the dispatch board.
- Set Member discount % under Settings → Pricebook (15% is a common starting point) and add specific member prices on high-ticket repairs or parts you don't want discounted as much.
- Sell the membership on the tune-up call. Have the tech save the customer's card during payment so every period charges automatically.
- A plumbing plan might be 1 visit per year for a water heater flush and whole-home inspection.
Electrical
Electrical shops usually sell a simpler safety plan: 1 visit per year for a panel and whole-home safety inspection, billed Annual, with member pricing on repairs. Use the perks list for things like "Priority scheduling" and "No trip charge".
Painting
Painters rarely sell recurring plans, but some offer a yearly touch-up or inspection agreement: 1 visit per year, Annual billing. Most of the value is the member discount on future work, so set a member price on the services you most want to sell again.
Roofing
A roof maintenance plan works well after a replacement: 1 or 2 visits per year for inspections and gutter checks, billed Annual. Visits come due as unscheduled jobs so you can book them before storm season.
Remodeling & restoration
Remodelers seldom need recurring billing. If you offer a post-project warranty check or a seasonal home maintenance agreement, a 1 visit per year plan with Annual billing keeps past clients on your schedule and gives them member pricing on the next project.
Landscaping, lawn, pool & pest (recurring routes)
Route businesses can model service frequency with visits per year:
- Monthly service (pool, pest, lawn treatments): a plan with 12 visits per year, billed Monthly.
- Quarterly service (pest perimeter treatments): 4 visits per year, billed Quarterly.
Each visit becomes an unscheduled job tagged Membership about three weeks before it's due. Dispatchers book them onto the board. Use Create due maintenance jobs on the Memberships page to pull the next 30 days in at once when you're building routes.
Cleaning
Recurring house cleaning works the same way as routes: a 12 visits per year plan billed Monthly covers monthly cleans. For more frequent cleans, the same 12-visit limit applies. Use perks to spell out what's included (for example, "Inside fridge quarterly").
Tips for every trade
- Keep plans few and clear. One plan per trade is a good start.
- Watch Renewing in 45 days on the Memberships page and call anyone whose agreement won't auto-renew.
- Watch Past due weekly. Past-due members don't auto-renew.
