Reporting workflows by trade
Which numbers HVAC, electrical, painting, roofing, remodeling, route and cleaning businesses watch in Homeforce.
Every trade cares about revenue and cash, but the numbers that tell you something's wrong are different. Here's where each kind of business usually looks.
HVAC & plumbing
- Average ticket and Close rate on Reports, per tech in Technician & sales performance. A tech with lots of visits but a low ticket may need help presenting options.
- Active members and Recurring revenue on Memberships. Membership count is the backbone of slow-season revenue.
- Lead source ROI during peak season, when ad spend is highest.
- A custom dashboard (Scale plan) with Revenue collected (today), Jobs completed (7 days), Active members and Revenue by tech makes a good morning-meeting screen.
Electrical
Service and install work mix together, so compare Service and Projects under Invoiced on Reports. Use Job costing to check margins on panel upgrades and rewires, where permits and materials can eat into profit.
Painting
Job costing is the key screen: labor is most of the cost, so on-site hours drive margin. If a job shows red, compare the crew's hours to what you bid. On Home, watch Revenue booked against your goal to keep the schedule full a few weeks out.
Roofing
Big tickets and fewer jobs mean Close rate and Revenue booked swing a lot week to week. Use the 90 days range on Reports to see the trend. Track Lead source ROI closely; storm and ad leads vary widely in quality.
Remodeling & restoration
Projects live and die on margin.
- Open each project for budget versus actual by phase and projected margin.
- Use Job costing to compare projects side by side. Revenue for projects is the contract plus approved change orders.
- Watch Retainage held on the Invoices page and A/R outstanding on Reports; project cash can lag well behind work done.
Landscaping, lawn, pool & pest (recurring routes)
Route businesses run on recurring revenue:
- Recurring revenue and Past due on Memberships.
- Hours on site and Visits done per tech on Reports, to balance routes.
- Revenue collected on Reports compared month to month to catch failed card charges early.
Cleaning
Watch Visits done and Hours on site per cleaner to spot over-long cleans, and Average ticket to make sure add-ons are being sold. On Home, Needs attention shows overdue invoices grouped by customer for one-time cleans that didn't get paid.
For every trade
Set a Monthly revenue goal in Settings → Goals so the Home page can show pace. See Set monthly goals. Export data from Settings → Data import/export when you need a report Homeforce doesn't have. See Export your data.
