Sell and get paid in the field

Build an estimate from your pricebook on site, turn it into an invoice, and take card, cash or check before you leave.

You can quote the work, invoice it and collect payment without leaving the driveway. Open the visit and use the Estimate and Invoice & Pay tabs.

Technicians, sales reps and other roles that can edit estimates and invoices see the buttons below. Everyone else sees these tabs as view only.

Build an estimate

  1. On the Estimate tab, tap New estimate.
  2. Give it a title, like "Replace capacitor".
  3. Search your pricebook and tap items to add them. Tap an item again, or use + and −, to change the quantity.
  4. For anything not in the pricebook, type a Custom line and price, then tap Add custom line.
  5. Tap Save estimate.
  6. Tap Send to customer, then Send. The customer gets a link to review, approve and sign.

Estimates built on the phone have one option. To offer good, better, best options or edit lines after saving, open the estimate on the web. See Create an estimate and Present an estimate.

Create an invoice

On the Invoice & Pay tab:

  • If the customer approved an estimate on this job, tap Invoice from estimate # (the estimate number) to copy its lines.
  • Otherwise tap New invoice, add lines the same way as an estimate, and tap Create invoice.

Tap Send to customer to text and email the invoice with its pay link.

Collect payment

Once the invoice is created and synced, it shows the balance due and the ways to pay:

  • Take card payment opens the invoice's secure pay page on your phone. Hand the phone to the customer to enter their card. The card goes straight to the payment processor and never touches Homeforce or your phone. This needs a signal.
  • Cash or Check records the full balance as paid. For a check, type the number in Check # (optional) first. Confirm with Record. These work offline.

When the balance hits zero you'll see ✓ Paid in full.

What happens next

When a card payment goes through, the customer gets a receipt if your company has receipts turned on. A review request goes out once the invoice is paid, if reviews are turned on. Anything you create offline shows Waiting to sync until it reaches the office.
